What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an integrative approach to therapy that utilizes the brain and body’s natural tendency and desire to heal with the use of bilateral brain stimulation (side-to-side eye, tactile, or auditory simulation). Just like our body seeks to heal a cut, so our brain does to heal disturbing experiences given the right environment. EMDR has been well researched and found effective in treating PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
